More than 175 chamber members and their guests took advantage of the extra hour at Wednesday's Business After Business to check out the new additions to the Traditions of Chillicothe facility on University Drive. The multi-million dollar project gives Traditions, owned by National Church Residences, facilities for skilled nursing, rehabilitation services, respite care and Alzheimer's care while adding to their assisted and independent living facilities. About 50-60 new employees are expected to be added when it is fully operational in a few months. Staff and board members also took the opportunity to cut the ribbon Wednesday evening. Check out other photos from the event: Traditions BAB LIBRARY SITE FOR DOWNTOWN MEETING: The former Central Elementary will be the site for the next meeting of the ad hoc group on downtown revitalization. The Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library offered the site for the meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. On the agenda is a final discussion on the HyettPalma consulting proposal and discussion on funding of the proposal, if it is to be pursued. The meeting is open to the public and anyone interested in downtown revitalization is encouraged to attend. OHIO 104 ADDED TO HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT LIST: The widening of Ohio 104 from the city limits to the new Ohio 207 connector is now on the state's list of committed projects for 2008. Thanks again to advance design work by Ross County Engineer Don Carnes and already approved federal funds, the project can be completed sooner than originally expected. The final approval is not expected until the spring after a public comment period. Also on the list is the U.S. 23 bypass of Portsmouth. For the complete list: www.dot.state.oh.us/TRAC. GLATFELTER PURCHASE FINALLY APPROVED: After months of study, regulators in the European Community cleared the way for Glatfelter to buy a British paper mill that makes coffee filters and tea bags.
