Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce

Crown Hill golf outingWeather cooperates -- barely;

Two tie for golf outing honors

The storm Wednesday evening that brought torrential rains and flash flooding to the area gave way to much cooler temperatures, gloomy skies and a mist that tried to put a damper on the chamber's Annual Golf Outing Thursday. But the 18 teams at Crown Hill Golf Club near Williamsport made the most of the day that ended in a steak lunch, courtesy of Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation and AVI Food Systems. The winning score of 11 under par was carded by both the Chillicothe Tents for Events and Chillicothe Jaycees teams with the Tents team winning by a scorecard playoff. The outing was held a week later than scheduled due to bad weather the previous week. Photos from the outing will be available shortly on the chamber website.

SEMINAR SET FOR TRAINING STANDARD: A special "Awareness Session on ISO 10015 -- Quality of Training standard" will be held in Chillicothe Thursday, Nov. 16. The seminar sponsored by the Economic Development Alliance of Southern Ohio will feature Ronald Jacobs, Ph.D., director of the Center on Education and Training for Employment at Ohio State University. The session is targeted especially for small and medium size manufacturing firms. There is no cost for the seminar, but reservations must be made in advance as space is limited at the Riverview Conference Center. To reserve a spot, contact Alliance CEO Christopher Manegold at 772-5100 or email him at cmanegold@chillicotheohio.com.

GOVERNMENT HOLIDAY MONDAY: As a reminder, most government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Columbus Day. And there will be no mail service.

TIME TO RESERVE YOUR EXPO SPACE: In only six weeks, the chamber's Annual Business Expo/BAB will open its doors at the Elks Hall. Sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Expo is a great way to spotlight your product or services to other chamber members and members of the public. To reserve your space, call the chamber at 702-2722 or go online: Expo registration.

Sponsored by the Chillicothe Jaycees and Evening Lions Club, the parade starts at 7 p.m. and winds through the downtown area.
