EATERY HAS NEW OWNER: Jason Brown, who owns the Emmitt House and Canal Pub in Waverly with his wife Michelle, has added the Filling Station on North Paint Street to his lineup. Offering Emmitt House-style fare and service has been his priority since taking over ownership a week ago. It is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays. YOU CAN'T BUY THIS PUBLICITY: A firm that tracks mentions of Chillicothe and Ross County on Columbus TV and ONN had a heyday with last week's visits by President Bush and vice presidential candidate John Edwards. There were 43 stories reaching 859,000 viewers that had a media value of $67,910, according to the service. Now, if there was only a service that could figure a way to get 15,000 people out of the fairgrounds parking lots in less than 60 minutes. LOOKING FOR EXPERT ADVICE?: Julie Fox of the OSU Small Business Development Center in Piketon could help when she speaks at Wednesday's Networking Luncheon. The center has a huge variety of resources for business owners and operators and this will be a good way to learn how they can help your firm. The luncheon starts at 11:30 at the Chillicothe Country Club and features the 30-second commercial for each company. Make sure to register: Networking Luncheon registration
FINAL, FINAL LAST CALL: The chamber's Annual Golf Outing is Thursday at the Jaycee Golf Course and there are just a few slots left for teams. The cost is $75 for an individual and $300 for a team. We also could use more gifts and gift certificates to use as skill and door prizes. Call the chamber at 702-2722 on the prizes if you'd like to contribute. If you want to play, complete the online registration and bring your money to the outing that morning. Golf Outing registration NEW MEMBERS: Here's who's joined the chamber recently:
