ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT: The chamber's annual golf outing has slots for only a few more teams as more than 80 players have signed up already to play at Valley Vista Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 22. The outing will feature skill prizes on every hole, beverages and snacks throughout the day and a steak dinner. The cost is $75 per individual and $300 for a team. ENTRIES NOW BEING ACCEPTED: The Chillicothe Jaycees and Evening Lions Club annual Halloween Parade is set for Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in downtown and entries are being sought. To sign up, complete the entry form available on the Jaycees website, www.chillicothejaycees.org.
INVESTMENT CENTER NOW DOWNTOWN: The Citizens National Bank investment center, manned by Great American representative David Daughters, moved to the bank's building at 33 W. Main St. from its former Bridge Street location. It's off the lobby to the right and the phone stays the same: 775-6777. BLOOD DRIVE SET: The American Red Cross bloodmobile will be at the Ross County Health District at the Service Center on Western Avenue Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Call 779-9652 to schedule an appointment. NEW TRAINING MANAGER: Rod Kroll is the new manager for training and procedures for the American Centrifuge Demonstration Facility in Piketon. He has 30 years of experience in nuclear plant operations. STUDENTS IN TOWN FOR FESTIVAL: About 40 students and seven chaperones from the Cleveland School of Art are taking in the Southern Ohio Storytelling Festival in town this weekend. The underprivileged kids are being financed through grants to broaden their horizons, according to the Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau. Check the link for the full schedule of events. PAYING FOR COLLEGE: Halm Financial is sponsoring two College Financial Planning Nights at the Chillicothe Country Club that will address topics such as developing a financial game plan and scholarship information. The seminars are 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 and Tuesday, Oct. 11. Limited space is available. Reservations may be made by calling 773-5301 or emailing collegefunding@horizonview.net. YARD SALE FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS: Southeastern Business College is holding a yard sale Saturday, Sept. 17 at its campus on Western Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations for the sale itself may be dropped off the morning of the sale. All money collected goes to the local Red Cross chapter for disaster relief and remaining yard sale items will be donated.
