Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce
Weekly Update July 3, 2003
APOLOGIES: Some technical glitches kept this from getting out of the chamber’s computer on Thursday afternoon and into yours.
DOWNTOWN TRAFFIC FLOW MAY GET A LIFT: Apparently plans are in the works to change the traffic signal pattern at Paint and Main streets which could alleviate some of the congestion. The plan is to have a green light for just one of the four sides at a time, allowing left-turners on Paint to get to Main Street easier. Sounds like a good plan. Might also want to make the far right lane on West Main into a right-turn only lane to help ease congestion there.
WORKFORCE ACADEMY TAKING REGISTRATIONS: "EEOC Overview and Americans with Disabilities Act" is the next Workforce Academy seminar to be held Tuesday, July 15 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Ross County Service Center on Western Avenue. Cindy Stankiewicz will be the presenter. She is a program analyst for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She will cover topics such as employers' rights and responsibilities under ADA, tax credits available, age discrimination and the Equal Pay Act. The academy is part of the chamber's Workforce Development Program. The cost is $5 per person. To register: Workforce Academy registration At left is Steve Hummel of Transitions Unlimited! conducting last month’s seminar on time management and effective meetings.
NO NETWORKING LUNCHEON IN JULY: The next Networking Luncheon will be Aug. 13 and will feature a panel of local media people who will discuss how to get your news into print, on radio or TV. More details later.
