COUNCIL GETS PLANNING ISSUE: Chillicothe’s City Council soon will begin looking at the possibility of hiring a professional planning firm to propose changes in the city’s 30-year-old zoning code as well as take a look at subdivision and thoroughfare regulations. The city Planning Commission this week forwarded to the council a recommendation to look at two firms that submitted proposals. The chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee approached the commission in April urging a comprehensive review of the zoning code. Middle managers, folks new to the community or those wishing a deeper understanding and knowledge of local history, government and business will benefit from the program as well as any others wishing to improve their leadership and management skills.
