![]() MURAL TO BE A TRAFFIC STOPPER: When it's finished later this year, the mural on the east wall of the Horizon Chillicothe Telephone building on East Main Street will have folks stopping or going slowly to enjoy all of its detail. Eric Henn, known throughout the U.S. for his work, is expected to start work shortly and have it completed in about 30 days. The First Capital District of Chillicothe Urban Redevelopment worked about two years to make this a reality. Contributions from local foundations and others helped make it possible. For a larger view, click here. ADENA READY FOR ITS BAB: Adena Mansion and Gardens should provide a beautiful backdrop for Wednesday's Business After Business. The Visitors Center will be the entry point and have all the food and beverages, but the gardens and home will be accessible. For anyone who hasn't been to Chillicothe's historic gem in more than five years, this is a great opportunity to see for yourself the transformation funded by the Ohio Historical Society. Liberty Village is a co-sponsor for the event. The changes were made following the resignation of executive assistant Jan Tremain who is leaving to become a manager with Sam's Club after 4.5 years with the chamber. Porter's position as workforce development assistant is being eliminated. CHAMBER MEMBER HONORED: Marian Everhart of ERA Martin and Associates is the newest Realtor of the Year for the Scioto Valley Association of Realtors. Based in Frankfort, she has been in the business nearly 20 years and is active in the community with the Sunflower Festival and other organizations. Congrats to Marian and check her out in a recent article in the Chillicothe Gazette: Realtor of the Year. In recognition og National Homeownership Month, the Scioto Valley chapter plans to clean up and plant flowers in the downtown area and other locations and host a Buyers/Sellers Expo. The Expo is for those thinking about buying or selling a house. It's Tuesday (June 20) at Touch of Class Catering at 285 W. Water St. from 4-7 p.m. NEW SERVICE AT LOOKS UNLIMITED: Amanda McGarvey now offers lypossage at Looks Unlimited to help you get rid of cellulite. It's a new technique gaining in spa popularity and Amanda has completed all work and received her certification. She is one of the first practitioners in North America. She's taking appointments now at 1665 N. Bridge St. at 775-4450. PROVIDING BETTER ACCESS: The home page of the chamber's website now includes a logo and link to the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio. From time to time, the chamber receives calls from consumers concerning businesses and their practices and services. Our organization is not equipped to investigate inquiries, so referrals are made to the bureau in Columbus. Now, consumers can go directly to the bureau with their requests or comments. The chamber is a member of the bureau.
BLOOD DONORS DESPERATELY SOUGHT: A special blood drive on June 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Ross County Service Center is set to help replenish supplies that have reached a crucial low level. To schedule an appointment or get more information, call Cherie French at 772-7551.
GIFT POST HELPING GOOD SAM: Thursday is the kickoff for the fourth annual Canned Food Drive benefiting the Good Samaritan Network of Ross County by The Gift Post at 601 E. Main St. The drive for non-perishable food items ends on July 8 and, while supplies last, donors will receive a 12-by-18-inch hand-held American flag.
