An exciting new initiative in public education is coming to our community, thanks to a commitment from educators and the support of the local business community. Allen Elementary School in the Chillicothe Schools district plans to implement "The Leader in Me" way of teaching starting in August. The FranklinCovey initiative uses the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" of Dr. Stephen Covey. The following organizations have made a commitment to the initiative:

"The Leader in Me" is transforming the culture in schools all across the United States and the world by using the 7 Habits. Children, starting in kindergarten, learn about taking responsibility for themselves, setting and working toward goals, working as a team and taking initiative. As employers, these are the qualities we value in our employees so this is a chance to get an early start in training our future workers.
