The Guest House Bed & Breakfast

Situated one block from downtown and surrounded by a beautiful garden is The Guesthouse Bed & Breakfast. It was designated in 1987 to the National Register of Historic Places. The Greek Revival 1826 home was built by Governor Tiffin -- the first governor of Ohio -- for his daughter as a wedding gift.

The interior of the main house has been restored and furnished in period antiques. Both downstairs fireplaces work and are used every winter. The house features early woodwork and chamfered doors, a servant's quarters and staircase in the rear, and the early original windows.

The old guesthouse on the east side has been newly restored into a two unit bed and breakfast. Wedding, rehearsal dinners and receptions are held in the main house. Your hosts are Tom Binns, a retired TWA pilot who spent 28 years with the company and his wife, Kay, who cooks gourmet breakfasts for guests.

The Guest House Rooms

The Guest House is a two story brick building constructed in 1826. This facility features a guest unit on each floor with a separate entrance to each. The building is separate from the main house and offers complete privacy.

Both units feature a lovely European decor, private bath and color television with remote. Central air and heat in each unit provides the optimum in guest comfort. Windows in both units offer a view of the old English garden between the guest house and the main building.
