When you invest in a membership in the chamber, it’s much like any other investment you make. You can sit back and watch it grow in the form of a better community which should mean better business and bigger profits for you and your company. Or you can actively manage your investment by taking advantage of the many features included with payment of your dues. Here is a list of what available to you and your employees:
Economic development
Creating new jobs for Ross Countians is a high
priority for the chamber. It is a partner of the Economic Development of Alliance of Southern Ohio which
works with existing business and industry looking to expand, helps recruit new
business and industry to the area through various means and nurtures the

Credibility
Chamber membership adds credibility and quality as well as visibility to your business. A national study of 2,000 adults in 2007 by The Schapiro Group showed that when respondents were told that a particular small business was a member of its local chamber, they were 44 percent more likely to rate it favorably than study respondents who were not told of the chamber affiliation. Respondents were also 63 percent more likely to want to purchase goods or services from a small business that is a chamber member. When searching for business and services, people call the Chamber of Commerce on a monthly basis. The Chamber has the reputation for providing the stamp of approval and being local authority on area business.
Business and industry advocacy
When you invest in the Chamber you strengthen your voice concerning important business and quality of life issues. The chamber Community Development and Advocacy Committee monitors these issues and relays the information to members so they can make decisions in the best interest of business.
Networking
Chamber events offer members the opportunity to meet fellow business professionals, cultivate new clients and keep informed on the latest business happenings and activities. The Chamber coordinates a monthly Business-After-Business, business luncheons, specialty seminars and numerous other events.
Mailing Lists and Labels
Members, upon request, receive one set of mailing labels free of charge. Additional labels are available for a small fee. These membership mailing lists help you in your marketing, direct mail and advertising programs.
Health insurance coverage
Through a special arrangement with Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield, chamber members with as few as two employees can take advantage of premier health insurance plans at more affordable rates than many other businesses. Coming soon will be coverage for individuals. To receive the discounts, though, you must be a member in good standing of the chamber.
Workers Compensation plan
CCI is proud to be the administrator of the chamber's workers' compensation group rating program. The chamber's 65 group participants are projected to save more than $500,000 in 2008 due to long-term discounts, high savings, program stability and comprehensive quality services. For 2009, savings range from the maximum discount of 77 percent to 15 percent for companies with higher claims cost. The electronic front door to the Chillicothe-Ross County area. The Chamber's Internet site is the most comprehensive resource tool for the community with its link to economic development data. ChillicotheOhio.com. It's also a popular site for people planning to come to the area either as tourists or to relocate here for a new job. A membership directory allows visitors to get to your website quickly, also. It has one of the most comprehensive Events Calendar in the entire community. And it's a fun site chockfull of photos of Chamber events such as our annual golf outing and our Business After Business affairs as well as Candidates Night and Expo. And you can take advantage of this popular site with your advertising message.
Membership Directory & Buyers Guide
This is a publication exclusively featuring our members. The annual Membership Directory and Buyers Guide is distributed throughout the Chamber membership and to the public. Newcomers to the area receive the directory when utilizing the Chamber relocation information service.
Marketing
Use us! That's what we are here for. How many area businesses can say they have a marketing staff? Think of the Chamber as an extension of your business. We can help you plan marketing strategies, special events and networking opportunities. The Chamber, like no other organization has the ability to see the "big picture" and provide direction for your marketing goals.
Referral Services
Each month we receive hundreds of calls from residents, potential customers and visitors looking for products and services in the Ross County area. We direct customers to your door by referring Chamber members only.
Advertising and marketing opportunities

Sponsorships
Promote your business and gain exposure by partnering with the Chamber. There are several opportunities including hosting a Business-After-Business, advertising in the newsletter or on ChillicotheOhio.com, or being a sponsor of the Chamber Annual Golf Outing. Your business can also sponsor a luncheon, seminar or special event. The choices are numerous and of course, we are always open to new ideas.
Community & business information center
The chamber is the gathering place for ideas and information. We distribute membership directories, maps, and tourist and business information. Providing direction for new business start-up, organizing ribbon cuttings and special event planning are also among the services the Chamber provides. We are the one-stop community resource center for economic, relocation and demographic information.
Subscription to Inc. magazine
The Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a one-year subscription to Inc. magazine, valued at $10*, will now be included as part of your membership. Inc. has been called the "small-business bible" by many and we're excited to bring you this great new resource.

Use of chamber conference room
The chamber's conference room can accommodate up to 15 comfortably. Parking is available on our lot. It can be reserved for an hour, two or an entire day. Call ahead to reserve it at 702-2722.
