If you’re not doing business in Chillicothe ... … then you’re missing a real opportunity
In other words, Chillicothe compares to some metro areas in terms of the number of people who come here to shop, dine and work. But because this is a little known fact in many circles, developers and companies are slow to put Chillicothe on their list of places to pursue expansion. On the other hand, some smart companies learned this fact several years ago and are taking advantage of our “secret.” They are listed on the back of the brochure. Here are some of the highlights of the OU study that should interest developers and business people: · Three major retailers report 54 percent of their sales come from people living outside of Ross County. · A sample of 1,000 vehicles in Bridge Street parking areas showed 56 percent were from outside Ross County. · Three large employers report 24 percent of their employees live outside of Ross County · Of the 65,000 yearly patrons of our outdoor drama “Tecumseh!”, 80 percent come from outside Ross County and 34 percent of those spend at least one night in a local motel.
· Pickaway to the north · Pike to the south · Jackson to the southeast · Vinton to the east · Hocking to the northeast · Fayette from the northwest · Highland from the west Complete information about Chillicothe to help you make your decision is available on the chamber website at www.chillicothe-ohio.com. This includes traffic counts, available properties, demographics, economic profiles, etc. If you still need more information, give us a call at 740-702-2722. We’ll be glad to help.
Don’t take our word for it: “That we would rebuild was never in doubt. We’ve got too many friends here to let a little thing like a fire drive us out.” From advertisement of Tumbleweed Southwest Grill in Chillicothe Gazette before building a restaurant twice the size of the one that burned in the fire.
“Most Hobby Lobby stores are in large cities, like Columbus.” Nick Morgione of Anchor Tenant Leasing on the 55,000 square foot store
“(Kohl’s District Manager Dave) Schmitt said the company was excited to be locating in Chillicothe, especially because people from all over southern Ohio come here to shop.” Chillicothe Gazette story on its $3 million, 88,000 square foot store.
